Data Interpretation / Conclusion Section

This section is all about "interpreting" your results and coming to valid conclusions.

Use the following points to structure your writing:

1. START OFF THIS SECTION BY RESTATING YOUR HYPOTHESIS!

2. For each GRAPH / TABLE / SKETCH, you need to do the following

DESCRIBE the data your graph shows– what does it show? Look for the highest vales, the lowest values and the overall pattern. E.g. Outside of Woolworths 220 pedestrians were counted in 5 minutes / this graph shows that East Reach scored -3 for litter....

EXPLAIN reasons why this might be. Remember to use FIGURES. E.g. this is a high number because this is a department store near the town centre / the reason for this could be because it is in the CBD which means.....

AT THE END: Draw out LINKS between the data. E.g. and the land-use survey clearly shows that this is the CBD which attracts most people. If i compare the litter results with the responses to my questionnaire, one can see.......

Repeat this process for ALL the graphs you have come up with.

The power point below gives you an idea of this in practice:

CONCLUSION SECTION

In the conclusion you need to:

Answer your key questions from your introduction - using DATA to back up each point (DO NOT just refer to graphs)

Finish with a paragraph answering your main coursework question, "How does housing change from the centre of Taunton to the edge?" - again DATA is needed.

The power point below shows this in practice:
